FAQ

On this page, you will find facts about our cattery and breeding program.
If you have a specific question that we have not covered, please contact us.

  • We are a CFA (Cat Fancier’s Association) registered Persian & Himalayan Cattery. We abide by the Breeder Code of Ethics as put forth by the Cat Fancier’s Association.
  • Our Persian and Himalayan cats and kittens are registered with the Cat Fancier’s Association, the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats. We have certain responsibilities to pedigreed cats and the Cat Fancier’s Association.
  • We breed our cats with the intent of improving the breed and to produce happy, healthy kittens. We deal honestly with the adopters of our cats and kittens.
  • Our kittens are vet checked.
  • Our kittens are vaccinated and dewormed.
  • Our kittens stay with us until they are at least twelve weeks of age.
  • We are a Hobby Persian and Himalayan Cat Breeder.
  • We are located in Plano, Texas just north of Dallas, Texas. We have placed kittens all over the United States, Canada, and the EU.
  • We are a cage-free Persian & Himalayan Cattery.
  • We can deliver your kitten to you and meet you at the nearest major airport.
  • Persians and Himalayans are considered a brachycephalic breed, meaning they are flat-faced.
  • Brachycephalic breeds are not able to be shipped via Air Cargo and must be accompanied on the airplane by their human pet nanny or new adoptive family member.
  • We DNA test all of our adults. Our DNA testing is completed by Wisdom Panel. Wisdom Panel is the World’s leading DNA testing service. DNA testing is done by taking a painless swab on the inside of the cheek. Wisdom panel tests for over 40 genetic health conditions, blood typing as well as traits and genetic diversity.
  • We are a DNA tested PKD negative cattery. PKD is Polycystic Kidney Disease and leads to a short lifespan in cats. Certain breeds have a higher prevalence of PKD than others. There is no cure for PKD. Current treatment is only palliative care.
  • We are a DNA tested PRA negative cattery. PRA is Progressive Retinal Atrophy and is a degenerative disease that affects the photoreceptor cells. With PRA, the cells deteriorate over time and eventually lead to blindness in cats. Atrophy is the partial or complete wasting or deterioration of a body part.
  • We require you to sign a contract which specifically spells out what our health guarantee offers and what we expect from you.
  • Our kittens are all sold with a spay or neuter agreement. This simply means you are contractually obligated to spay or neuter your new kitten if you are adopting your kitten as a “Pet Only,” i.e., no breeding rights, before receiving the CFA kitten purebred registration number and paperwork.
  • The rights to breed are not automatically given with a kitten.
  • Persian and Himalayan cats require routine and regular coat maintenance such as brushing and bathing.
  • Persian and Himalayan cats are flat-faced (brachycephalic breed) and will have ocular discharge also referred to as rusting. Persians and Himalayans will need to have their faces cleaned and wiped routinely.
  • Persian and Himalayan cats are not acclimated to extreme cold and extreme heat and should not be allowed outdoors in extreme temperatures.
  • Persian and Himalayan cats are indoor animals, not to be allowed outdoors. They lack the skill and temperament to defend themselves against other cats, dogs, and predators.
  • Persian cats come in a range of colors.
  • Himalayan cats come in a range of colors.
  • Some Persians have blue eyes, some have copper eyes and some have green eyes. Some Persians have “odd eyes” meaning one eye being copper and one eye being blue.
  • Persian kittens with copper eyes start by being blue and transitioning to copper. Therefore if a kitten is pictured on our available page as being blue-eyed, they may turn copper. Please inquire for clarification.
  • Himalayan cats have blue eyes.
  • Persians and Himalayans have long, luxurious, thick coats.
  • Persian cats are known for their sweet, gentle, and calm demeanor and they make excellent companions and great emotional support animals.
  • We ask that you make an appointment to meet our kittens. Our kittens are raised in our home at our sides, on our laps (and sometimes on the floor between our feet!), and receive love and attention from day one.
  • We reserve the right to refuse the adoption of our kittens to anyone we feel does not have the best interest of our kitten in mind.
  • We work with Grand Champion Persian and Himalayan bloodlines. We work with Kopy Kapp, Kinapak, Joleigh, Sandypaws, Stardazl, Brettachtal’s and Dreamz bloodlines.
